Saying Goodbye

So my 14 year old went on a Leadership Camp today for 14 days.
While I know he will have a fantastic time, and be well cared for, this would have usually thrown me into an eating spin.I would have consoled myself with chocolate and other treat foods.Maybe doughnuts with sprinkles,maybe a tim tam or 5.

But not today, today I can recognise that I don't need food to console myself. Today I took the rest of the family for a walk down by the river and then made a new and exciting lunch. Avocado salmon boats..recipe to follow.

I feel great after this yummy lunch, and I wonder when I started consoling myself with food. When did I start using food as a treat or a reward?

Its so much better to use other comforts rather than food..a hug..a back rub..a clean meal that nourishes your body and soul and respects who you are.We are worth it!
